Let’s talk about a project

The web is a canvas. A soapbox. A social theater.
It's where your business gets done. Two rules: Make sure you have a story to tell, and make sure you get Frank to tell it.

River East School-to-Career

Squarespace website rebrand

River East is a well-hidden business and education middleman, promoting and facilitating students to pursue their goals through real-world experience with mentors. They provide programs, training, and connections to high schools in the western valley, and have lined up a roster of businesses willing to take students in and train them.

While their programs are successful, River East itself has been lost in the shuffle. Low visibility and poor messaging. Much of this stems from an ancient website built on some arcane CMS system no longer viable. The Darby O’Brien agency created a new logo, and I worked with the client to parse and refine their existing content into essential and readable chunks, and to organize the content into meaningful categories. I created the slogan, “Where Education Meets Opportunity” for the homepage hero, and the client has adopted it for all their messaging now.

The measure of success for a program like River East is the student participation and results. This made it a natural design decisionĀ  to highlight students on the site. Big, bold heroes, and small testimonial videos from students and business mentors. The new site is built in Squarespace because of client budget and their desire to make code-free edits to the content.
